Subscription lifecycle
States
| State | What you can do |
|---|---|
| Trialing | Everything |
| Active | Everything |
| Canceling | Everything, until the paid period ends |
| Suspended | Almost nothing — just fix your payment |
| Expired | Almost nothing |
| None | No subscription yet — just the purchase flow |
- A Trialing/Active subscription that isn't renewed by the period end becomes Suspended.
- A Canceling subscription becomes Expired when the paid time runs out.
What "suspended" looks like
While suspended or expired, the business features — jobs, products, imports, reports — are locked. The console keeps a minimal shell so you can reach billing and fix things. Your data stays put. Locked is not deleted.
Canceling
Cancel from the Stripe customer portal or the Billing page. You keep full access until the period you've paid for ends.
One catch: when you're canceling with less than 72 hours left, you can't start new counts (SUBSCRIPTION_RENEWAL_REQUIRED). A started count needs a full 72-hour window, and starting one that would outlive your subscription isn't allowed.
The free first month
Starter's first month is free only if it's your organization's first subscription and Starter is your first plan. It's a one-time thing — the checkout shows it when you qualify.
