Counting

Join the job

  1. Your supervisor opens the job in the console (People → Invite Scanners) or shows the Scanner Access QR from their app.
  2. In your app, tap Scan to start and scan the QR code (or paste the invitation code manually).
  3. You're in — the job is selected automatically. Access lasts until 48 hours after you joined or 2 hours after the job's planned end, whichever comes first.

Pick a location first

The top bar shows the current job and location. Tap it to switch, or open Locations from the drawer.

Always set your location before scanning — every scan is counted against the current location, and the app can't know you moved to the next shelf.

You can also scan a location barcode to switch. If the code doesn't exist, the app offers to create a new location on the spot (needs a connection).

Three ways to scan

Switch modes from the Capture card — the app remembers your choice:

ModeHow it worksBest for
CameraPoint the rear camera at the barcode. Same code is ignored for 1.2 s so you don't double-scan. Flash and pause buttons included.Occasional scanning, no extra hardware
ScannerA Bluetooth scanner in keyboard mode (HID) types into a focused field; Enter submits.Handheld scanners
Ring ScannerPair an iBond ring scanner by scanning the on-screen pairing QR. Shows battery and reconnects automatically.High-volume, all-day counting

Successful and failed scans give sound and vibration feedback, so you can keep your eyes on the shelf.

Confirming quantities

Every scan creates a draft with quantity 1 and shows a review banner for 9 seconds:

  • Tap OK to send it right away.
  • Tap the banner body to change quantity or add a remark (this stops the countdown).
  • Just scan the next item — the previous one is sent immediately.
  • Do nothing, and it uploads by itself when the countdown ends.

For items without a barcode, use the + button to enter a code (or search the catalog) with quantity and remark manually.

Scanning something the catalog doesn't know

Not an error. The record is saved and marked needs review, uploads normally, and gets sorted out on the server side. So when in doubt, scan it.
